Our history
Our pre-mixed cocktail journey began in 2012 when one of the bars owned by Charlie Anderson created some bottled cocktails to mark its 10th anniversary. Attending the birthday was Mark Thompson who was working for Moët & Chandon at the time.
Mark took note of the bottled cocktail concept and recognised its potential, particularly in providing a solution to enable premium hotels and other hospitality venues to sell cocktails.
Four years of R&D later, Mark and Charlie formed Bottleproof Cocktails Ltd in 2016, the parent company of 464 Cocktails, and launched a range of specialised Bottleproof cocktails exclusively for hotels, bars, restaurants, and theatres.
Our cocktails are now served at some of the UK’s best-known premium hotels and the quality of the cocktails has been recognised with industry awards including IWSC (International Wine & Spirits Challenge) Gold and Silver medals, along with The Spirits Masters Gold and Silver medals, and the highly prestigious title of Grand Master of Speciality Spirits.
In 2021, building on the success and foundation of Bottleproof cocktails, Charlie & Mark decided it was the right time to create a consumer product to enable everyone to enjoy quality premixed cocktails at home, and so 464 cocktails was born.
The theatre of a cocktail serve is maintained too, as each cocktail either requires shaking (in a cocktail shaker), stirring or building. You still get to enjoy the fun of making a cocktail, but you don’t need to do any of the ingredient mixing!
